Different post types

There are different post types. A post can cite a passage from a book or speech. It can put two or more quotes next to each other to create tension. The quote can be accompanied by small or long commentary. It can contain associations that were triggered from the post. It can evoke emotions. It can ask questions for exploring the topic deeper. And it can try to answer them or let them stand there to be answered by the reader.

A post can summarize a topic. It can paint an extensive landscape or it can act as a microscope. It can make the reader smell, feel, smile, laugh, and cry; or it can stay sterile.

A post can inspire. Or it can be not much more than a candy wrapper that is on its way to the wastebasket.

But even if the post itself is not able to grow legs and stand on its own, it is one more step in the authors journey. It is practice for the thought process and it is practice for writing thoughts down.

There’s one thing that all posts have in common: there must be written, there must be born.
